Benny is proud of his accordian. It is the same little yellow one that he recieved
as a boy of 6 years in 1952.
" I know how to dance schottische, hambo, waltz and fox trot. But it's more fun
to play when others dance. I think it's quite common that people who play dance
music don't dance themselves."
"I read, I enjoy detective novels, I cook, I'm the one who cooks the food. I have a
summer house in Trosa, we go out on our boat. I've had my vacation but I'm going
to take another two weeks during the Olympic Games. I'm not a sporty person but I
like watching all sports. Earlier I watched the soccer European Championship."
"I quite often use the oven when I cook. A lot of Italian! "

"Sixties" show on Swedish national Television ended with Benny Andersson (of ABBA fame) talking about John Sebastian from the Lovin' Spoonful, and Gary Brooker from Procol Harem, with Gary playing on a screen behind him:
"It's incredible that these guys are still around, working, and enjoying themselves ... you'd like to get together with them, talk about their songs, play - form a band!"
(smiles)
"You can't have too many piano players in a band, though."
Benny goes gold!
